Share the Blessing of God's Guidance to a Fellow Christian
You may confide to the Lord in detail all that is troubling You. There is no rule or law against pouring out your heart to Him, but you must not stop there. Thus it becomes important to prioritize your time when you come to sit at His feet. “Seek ye first…” (Matthew 6:33). First look at His face; gaze upon His countenance. Heart hurts will be uncovered, yes, but the overwhelming awareness will be of His love and of His grace.
In the years before I owned a computer, I filled page after page in spiral notebooks that, once filled, I could not throw away but lacked the time and energy to reread. I often joked that we were going to have to build a spare room for my notebooks. One year I finally made it my summer project to go through those journals, and as I read page after page of my own prayers and musings I became impatient with myself. The only portions of my writing truly worth saving were my efforts to record the Lord's words and guidance. When I began to journal with the use of a word-processing program, I always bold-faced the portions that reflected the Lord's counsel to me. It occurred to me that I ought to save just the bold-faced print and delete everything else! This blog then, consists of just the bold-faced print, with my questions and meanderings recorded only when necessary in order to clarify the subject that is being addressed. I pray that the guidance that has been given to me may bless other lives by the power of the Holy Spirit and for the glory of God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
